Smart POC Tele-ultrasound Devices to Boost Demand in Global Market

A key trend in the global POC ultrasound systems market is the emergence of smart POC tele-ultrasound systems, which are expected to provide a boost to the demand in the market.

These are the latest findings of Technavio Research, (London, UK), a global technology research and advisory company.

Vendors and associations are increasing awareness about POC ultrasound devices due to their wide applications and usability in emergency situations and remote locations. They are also organizing awareness programs and events in order to educate professionals and people through courses and providing support material in the form of guides and online applications. For instance, the Society of Point of Care Ultrasound is a non-profit organization that aims to promote and increase the use of clinical ultrasound and educate professionals from all specialties.

Additionally, vendors have introduced handheld smart POC ultrasound systems, which are application-based systems that provide high image quality, and help in sharing images and videos via e-mail or shared networks. Application-based systems offer significant advantages such as real-time updates for POC ultrasound systems and online support.

Geographically, the Americas led the global point-of-care (POC) ultrasound systems market in 2017 with a share of 42% and is expected to maintain its dominance during the forecast period, followed by the Asia Pacific and Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions, respectively.
