Qiagen hace una sociedad con Sysmex para el desarrollo y la comercialización de diagnósticos acompañantes para el cáncer

ilustraciónQIAGEN NV (Venlo, Países Bajos) y Sysmex Corporation (Kobe, Japón) firmaron una alianza estratégica global para el desarrollo y comercialización de diagnósticos complementarios del cáncer, que aprovechará tanto el liderazgo de QIAGEN en este campo como la tecnología Plasma-Safe-SeqS de Sysmex para secuenciación de próxima generación (NGS).

La alianza tiene como objetivo fomentar la colaboración con empresas farmacéuticas para el desarrollo de tratamientos farmacológicos para el cáncer y promover la adopción clínica temprana de diagnósticos complementarios de biopsia líquida ultrasensible. QIAGEN y Sysmex tienen una asociación de larga data que, por ejemplo, proporciona la prueba de cáncer de sangre ipsogen JAK2 en Japón. QIAGEN y Sysmex lanzarán productos de diagnóstico complementarios del cáncer en varias regiones del mundo.

El análisis genético de los tumores permite identificar los genes responsables del desarrollo y la diseminación de un tumor y orientar el tratamiento en consecuencia. Pero el análisis tradicional de tumores sólidos está limitado por su heterogeneidad (concentraciones variables de células cancerosas, por ejemplo) y por la disponibilidad de muestras. La biopsia líquida aborda estos desafíos y, en combinación con la NGS sensible, permite la evaluación de pacientes en diferentes puntos de su tratamiento contra el cáncer. Permite a los médicos detectar nuevas anomalías y ajustar los tratamientos para hacerlos más precisos y desarrollar nuevas terapias dirigidas.
